One Team - Expert Talks with Ana Petri
Reporting Analyst Ana Petri is part of the iTMethods Platform Services team. With a contagious enthusiasm for innovation and strong technical skills, Ana shares how she has been able to take her career to the next level.
Why do you believe iTMethods is a leader in their industry?
I believe iTMethods is an industry leader because they are trusted by companies from all over the world across different industries, providing them with excellent service and solutions to some of their toughest challenges. iTMethods is constantly developing new solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
What has it been like working from home on a full-time basis during the pandemic?
I love that we have the flexibility to work from home. This flexibility allowed me to move outside of Toronto and enjoy a better quality of life. Not having to commute to an office, allows me more time to go to the gym in the morning or walk outside when it is summertime. Also having my cats close to me while working is a plus ;)
When the pandemic started, iTMethods announced that we will have the flexibility to choose to work from home or from the office (when it is safe to do so) some days if desired. This was great news for me, as it allows me to visit my family back in Brazil for a longer period, whilst working remotely from there.
How has iTMethods supported your personal and career development?
I’ve learned a lot since I joined the company, and I was offered great assistance from managers and coworkers. iTMethods gave me access to learning platforms and this enabled me to get my first certification as an AWS Cloud Practitioner. They always encourage the team to focus on their career development, and provide support for any certifications that we would like to take. I feel like the leadership team is really invested in the career growth of their employees.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is that I get to do work that I'm really passionate about, while also being in the tech industry. I enjoy the fast-paced nature and it allows me to always learn something new all the time.
As a reporting analyst, I get to work across different areas within the organization. This allows me to communicate with the team frequently and I'm constantly being challenged to find better ways to present the data, automate and improve our reporting.
